Preliminary
Early, limited, small-sample, incomplete, or insufficiently replicated evidence that requires further confirmation.
Preclinical
Evidence derived from nonhuman experimental systems, including animal models, in vitro, or ex vivo studies.
Mechanistic
Evidence describing molecular targets, pathways, biochemical mechanisms, or biological plausibility without independently establishing higher-level outcomes.
Hypothesis
A proposed explanation, mechanism, relationship, or prediction that requires additional evidence before it can be considered Supported or Established.
Evidence Gap
Evidence is absent, conflicting, insufficient, or not suitable to resolve the question. In these cases, AMR documents the gap rather than inferring a stronger conclusion.
